The 'Types' of Therapy that I offer
Humanistic Integrative Counselling is a compassionate and collaborative approach that recognises each person as unique, with their own experiences, needs, and potential for growth. At the heart of my practice is the Person-Centred modality, which means that you are at the centre of the work — your thoughts, feelings, and pace guide the process. I provide a safe, non-judgemental space where you can explore and understand yourself more deeply. Alongside this, I integrate aspects of Transactional Analysis (TA), which helps us explore patterns of communication and behaviour developed through past relationships, and Gestalt Therapy, which focuses on increasing awareness of your present-moment experience and how you relate to the world around you. By blending these approaches, I aim to tailor the therapy to your individual needs, supporting you in developing greater self-understanding, authenticity, and emotional well-being.
I am also currently training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), which I can integrate into our work together where it feels helpful. CBT is a structured, evidence-based approach that focuses on the relationship between our thoughts, feelings, and behaviours. It can be particularly useful for managing anxiety, low mood, and unhelpful thinking patterns by developing practical tools and strategies for change. Incorporating elements of CBT allows me to offer a more flexible and holistic approach to therapy, ensuring that the support you receive is tailored to what works best for you.
For those who wish to focus on a specific issue within a shorter timeframe, I can also offer CBT on a time-limited, short-term basis through block booking, providing a clear structure and targeted strategies for meaningful change.
